POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — BSO arrested 4 teens who they say crashed a stolen car into a business and then stole several firearms.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T.) arrested three juveniles less than 15 hours after the suspects were involved in a structural smash and grab in Pompano Beach.

The crime occurred at approximately 2:48 a.m. Friday, April 21, at a business near the 1300 block of Southwest First Court. The preliminary investigation revealed that a stolen white Kia Forte was intentionally driven into the business. Following the crash, three individuals entered the store and stole three AR-15 semi-automatic rifles before fleeing the scene in another stolen grey Kia Forte.

While conducting follow-ups on the incident, BSO B.A.T. detectives located the stolen guns and getaway car at a residence in Oakland Park. Investigators surveilled the home and observed two juveniles exiting the residence armed with two rifles and enter a black vehicle. The car was stopped by B.A.T. and BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) units a short time later, and both suspects were taken into custody. The other two juveniles were arrested by B.A.T. investigators shortly after.

The suspects each face one count of larceny-grand theft of a firearm. Charges related to grand theft of a vehicle and armed burglary are pending.

Detectives say two of the stolen AR-15 semi-automatic rifles and the stolen grey Kia were recovered following the arrests. A search warrant was obtained for the Oakland Park residence, and BSO SWAT team executed the search. Evidence linking the suspects to the crime was located inside the home.

The third stolen AR-15 has yet to be recovered.
