POMPANO BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Three teens were killed Monday night in a violent two-vehicle crash that sent a BMW off North Federal Highway and into a Broward County Transit bus stop, Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives said.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29, in the 1600 block of North Federal Highway in Pompano Beach. Broward County Regional Communications received the first reports at 6:59 p.m., and deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue responded.

Investigators said the preliminary investigation shows a 2024 Acura Integra turned right out of a shopping plaza near Northeast 18th Street to head south on North Federal Highway. At the same time, a 2014 white BMW M5 was traveling southbound on Federal Highway.

For reasons still under investigation, detectives said the BMW struck the raised concrete curb along the center median, then the driver lost control.

The BMW then hit the Acura and began rotating clockwise, sliding sideways across the roadway. Detectives said it continued across the west side of the road, jumped the curb, and crashed into a Broward County Transit bus stop. From there, the vehicle struck a concrete light pole and then a tree.

The Acura’s driver brought the car to a controlled stop in the left turn lane, detectives said. Damage to the Acura indicated a sideswipe-type impact to the front driver’s side.

BSO deputies and Pompano Beach Fire Rescue crews worked to extricate the three teens from the BMW, detectives said. All three were transported to Broward Health North, where they were pronounced dead.

The driver of the BMW was identified as Richard Manuel Alcocer, 18, of Pompano Beach. He was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The passengers were identified as Miguel Montez, 16, and Ruben Baltazar, 15. Additional information about the two juveniles was withheld under Marsy’s Law. Both were pronounced deceased.

The driver and occupants of the Acura did not report injuries, investigators said. The Acura’s driver was identified as Fabiola Groves, with additional information withheld under Marsy’s Law.

Detectives said excessive speed by the BMW’s driver is a possible contributing factor, based on the preliminary investigation. The investigation remains ongoing.

Boca Post first reported the crash Monday night as an active scene with North Federal Highway closed in the area while detectives investigated reports of multiple fatalities. Officials had not released how the crash happened or the identities of those killed at that time.
