BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Sun holds today near 82, but a cold front slides through tonight into Tuesday, knocking highs into the 60s and bringing breezier winds, rougher seas, and a moderate rip current risk for the Palm Beaches.

Today’s Weather – Monday, December 29, 2025

It’s a clean start to the week around Boca Raton, with sunshine and a warm afternoon on deck before a noticeable shift arrives overnight.

Today stays sunny, and Boca’s high is expected to land near 82. Winds will be out of the west at 5 to 8 mph, light enough that most of the day should feel calm—good beach weather, easy driving along the I-95 corridor, and a quieter feel even out toward Lyons Road and the western suburbs.

There is one early-morning issue in the broader South Florida forecast discussion: areas of dense fog are expected early this morning across Southwest Florida, with visibility potentially dropping below a quarter of a mile and creating hazardous driving conditions in those areas. For Boca’s immediate east coast setup, aviation guidance notes VFR conditions should prevail along the East Coast, though patchy fog is possible across the interior early this morning given light winds and low-level moisture. The bottom line locally: if you’re out before sunrise, especially away from the immediate coast, keep an eye out for sudden visibility drops.

Tonight, clouds begin to increase. The forecast calls for increasing clouds with a low around 62. Winds also tick up slightly, staying west at 7 to 10 mph. It’s a subtle change at first—still mild, still manageable—but it’s also the lead-in to the bigger pattern shift.

That shift is driven by a strong cold front pushing south. In the forecast discussion, the front is expected to move into central Florida by this evening and then cross South Florida between tonight and tomorrow. Conditions today remain fairly benign ahead of it. The real change builds as the front moves through and the wind turns more decisively northerly.

By Tuesday, you’ll feel it. Boca’s forecast trends mostly sunny but cooler, with a high near 70. Winds turn northwest around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph. That breeze will show up on the Intracoastal, on exposed stretches near the beach, and on open roads like Glades Road—especially where crosswinds can catch you off guard.

There’s also a small rain signal tied to the front, but it’s limited. Guidance suggests isolated showers may try to develop, with the better chance confined to the local Atlantic waters during the day Tuesday. The point forecast for the broader region also carries only a 10 percent chance of rain Tuesday for nearby points.

Current Advisories / Watches / Warnings

Small Craft Advisory for most areas with as seas build.

In addition, the beaches forecast calls out a moderate risk of rip currents for the Palm Beaches early this week as northeasterly swell takes over. If you’re planning time at the waterline, that matters—especially as winds and seas build Tuesday into Wednesday.

7 Day Outlook

Today (Mon): Sunny and warm, high near 82 with a light west breeze.
Tonight: Clouds increase, low around 62, west winds 7–10 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny but cooler, high near 70. Northwest winds around 14 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. A few showers may be possible over the Atlantic waters as the front moves through. Marine conditions begin deteriorating.

Tuesday Night: Clearer and much colder, low around 49. Northwest winds around 15 mph with gusts up to 21 mph—the kind of night where it feels colder than the thermometer in open areas.

Wednesday: Sunny and cool, high near 67. Northwest winds 10–14 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. On the water, seas and winds remain elevated and hazardous.

Wednesday Night: Mostly clear, low around 47, with northwest wind around 10 mph.

New Year’s Day (Thu): Sunny, high near 68 with northwest wind around 10 mph.
Thursday Night: Clear, low around 51, northwest wind around 7 mph.

Friday: Sunny and starting to ease warmer, high near 72. Northwest wind around 7 mph becoming south in the afternoon, a sign the air mass is beginning to moderate.
Friday Night: Partly cloudy, low around 57.

Saturday: Sunny, high near 77.
Saturday Night: Mostly clear, low around 62.

Sunday: Sunny, high near 79.

The overall pattern is straightforward: warm and quiet today, then a strong front brings cooler, drier air with breezier north winds, followed by a gradual warming trend heading into the weekend. For boaters, the message is sharper—conditions turn rough Tuesday and Wednesday with building seas and advisory-level winds. For beachgoers in Palm Beach County, the moderate rip current risk early this week is a detail worth treating seriously.
