UPDATE

Boca Post has been notified that the deputy responsible for this crash has not been cited with a uniform traffic citation to spite the accident report saying he violated the right of way of the teenager by failing to stop at a stop sign.

A representative for PBSO tells us that while he was not cited for the crash, he will undergo an accident review board which is comprised of his colleagues. Once the members of the review board review the incident, the case will be submitted to the Sheriff who will decide whether or not the deputy will receive disciplinary action.

It is unclear whether or not the deputy will be cited for the crash which is not the treatment for the rest of the driving public in Palm Beach County.

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) — A teenager was injured after a PBSO deputy slammed into her with his police cruiser after running a stop sign in Wellington.

According to a Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office report, Deputy Lemond ran a stop sign and crashed his PBSO cruiser into a teen on an electric scooter. The 17-year-old girl was transported to a local trauma center for her injuries.

The accident occurred early this morning near Polo Gardens Drive and South Shore boulevard.

While the accident report indicates that Deputy Lemond violated the student’s right-of-way, it is unclear if the deputy was cited. PBSO had not indicated whether or not the deputy was en route to a call for service when he violated the teen’s right of way.
