Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office has reported that an individual on a bicycle was involved in an accident and killed by a bus driver in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea.

According to a press release by Broward Sheriff’s Office on 12/7/21, the department has officially stated that a bicyclist is dead after being struck by a Broward County Transit (BCT) bus in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea on 12/3/21.

BSO reports that at around 11 am on Friday (12/3/21) a bus driven by David Graham was traveling northbound near 1400 South Ocean Boulevard at the same time as the bicyclist. The bicyclist, who was riding a Trek OCLV Carbon, was struck by the bus in a sideswipe type of accident. The bicyclist was ejected from the bike.

BSO deputies and Lauderdale-By-The-Sea volunteer Fire Rescue responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was then pronounced dead.

It was said that the BCT bus driver remained on the scene and was cooperative. BSO doesn’t suspect speed to be a cause of the crash. This investigation is still ongo
