OAKLAND PARK, FL — BOCA RATON — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies were working a developing incident Friday evening involving a barricaded subject in Oakland Park, according to the BSO Public Information Office.
Shortly before 6 p.m. Friday, May 29, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a man armed with a knife in the 800 block of West Oakland Park Boulevard in Oakland Park, BSO said.
BSO deputies responded along with Oakland Park Fire Rescue. On scene, the suspect retreated inside an apartment and barricaded himself, BSO said.
As a precaution, surrounding apartments were evacuated, according to BSO.
BSO said its K-9, SWAT and Violent Crimes unit also responded. The agency described the investigation as active and ongoing.
