Broward Sheriff’s Office said its Missing Persons Unit located a 15-year-old who had been reported missing from North Lauderdale and reunited her with family.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit detectives said a 15-year-old who was the subject of a missing persons alert has been located.

BSO said the teen, Melanie Reyes, was safely located and reunited with family.

Detectives said a missing persons alert was issued for Reyes on Monday, May 25. She was last seen shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, in the 1300 block of Seaview Drive in North Lauderdale, according to BSO.

The update came from BSO detectives. The agency’s Missing Persons Unit handled the case and provided the information on her status.

For residents in Boca Raton and across South Florida, the key takeaway is that the missing persons alert has been resolved and the teen has been found safe, according to BSO.

BSO did not release additional details about where she was located or the circumstances of her disappearance in the information provided.

NORTH LAUDERDALE, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking the public for help locating a missing 15-year-old.

BSO identified the teen as Melanie Reyes. Detectives said she was last seen shortly after 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, in the 1300 block of Seaview Drive in North Lauderdale.

Detectives described Reyes as 5 feet, 4 inches tall and about 110 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a brown shirt and light blue shorts.

BSO detectives are leading the search and are asking anyone with information to come forward. The agency is directing tips to BSO Detective Gino Parram at 954-321-4200.

Residents who think they may have seen Reyes, or who have information about where she may be, can also call the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).
