BROWARD COUNTY, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives have located a 65-year-old man who was the subject of a missing persons alert after he was last seen Tuesday morning in North Lauderdale.
Detectives with the BSO Missing Persons Unit said the man was safely located and has since been reunited with family.
The missing persons alert was issued after he was last seen at about 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 16, near the 1700 block of Southwest 64th Terrace in North Lauderdale.
BSO is the agency handling the case through its Missing Persons Unit. The update from investigators did not include where he was found or additional details about the circumstances.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for a missing 65-year-old man last seen Tuesday morning in North Lauderdale.
Detectives with the BSO Missing Persons Unit said they are seeking the public’s help in locating Van Helman Newbold.
Investigators said Newbold was last seen at about 8 a.m. Tuesday, June 16, near the 1700 block of Southwest 64th Terrace in North Lauderdale. He was last seen wearing blue jean shorts, a white shirt and black sneakers.
BSO described Newbold as about 6 feet 2 inches tall and about 175 pounds, with grey hair and brown eyes.
According to his family, Newbold is deaf and communicates only using sign language.
BSO is asking anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact BSO Missing Persons Detective Chris Blankenship at 954-321-4268 or the BSO non-emergency number at 954-764-HELP (4357).
