LAKE WORTH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — 2 Killed, 3 Injured in deadly Boynton Beach area DUI crash.

The deadly crash happened at 7:24 PM on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, near Military Trail and Miner Road in unincorporated Lake Worth, just north of Boynton Beach.

Dawn Michele Howard, 54, was driving a Lexus RX350 northbound on South Military Trail at a high rate of speed, approaching the intersection of Miner Road. At the same time, Alejandro G. Rodriguez was driving a VW Jetta northbound on South Military Trail, approaching the 7882 block.

As Howard neared the intersection of Miner Road, the traffic signal cycled to yellow, and accelerated to traverse the intersection before the signal cycled to red. As Howard’s Lexus continued northbound on South Military Trail within the outside lane, it entered a sweeping left hand curve, while traveling at a high rate of speed, violently collided with Rodriguez’ car. During the collision, the front of Howard’s Lexus violently impacted the rear of Rodriguez’s car.

The Lexus was then redirected in a northerly direction over the eastern shoulder of South Military Trail, and onto the swale on the eastern edge of the roadway, where it rolled over and came to final rest on the grass and dirt swale facing southwest.

Rodriguez’s car was then redirected in a northerly direction, continuing to travel in the outside lane to South Military Trail, and coming to final rest on the edge of the roadway (outside of the fog line) facing north east.

Grechy Y. Almaguer-Perez and another one of Rodriguez’ passengers died at the scene while Rodriguez and another one of the passengers remain in critical condition.
