Motorcyclist Killed in High-Speed Palm Beach Gardens Crash

Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office investigators responded to a fatal motorcycle crash on Alternate A1A in Palm Beach Gardens.

PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A 21-year-old motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon in a crash on Alternate A1A in Palm Beach Gardens, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The collision happened at 12422 Alternate A1A. Investigators say the motorcycle, a 2021 Yamaha, was traveling northbound in the inside lane at a high rate of speed around 3:52 p.m. A 2021 Lexus SUV was traveling northbound in the center lane ahead of the motorcycle.

According to PBSO, the rider of the motorcycle lost control as it overturned and was ejected. Both the motorcycle and the rider slid northbound. The motorcycle overtook the Lexus and struck it in the left rear.

The rider, identified by investigators as Jake D. Melvin, was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene at 4:02 p.m., according to the sheriff’s office.

The driver of the Lexus, identified as Robin Remick, was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
