FLORIDA (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for an 81-year-old man who is missing from St. Augustine, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

FDLE said the alert is for Michael Nixon, 81. He is described as a white male with gray hair and green eyes. He is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 173 pounds.

FDLE listed his last known area as St. Augustine in Saint Johns County.

Silver Alerts are statewide notifications used to help locate missing older adults. For South Florida residents, the practical point is simple: these alerts can travel fast and wide, and people who live or work far from the last known area may still come across someone who matches the description.

FDLE is the agency issuing the alert and distributing the information. The St Johns County Sheriff’s Office is the local law enforcement agency handling the case.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the St Johns County Sheriff’s Office at 904-824-8304 or call 911.

Residents who think they have seen the missing man are being asked to report what they saw and where, and to do it quickly through law enforcement rather than posting it publicly. The FDLE flyer remains the official source for the alert information.
