Boca Raton wakes up to a mostly quiet forecast, with the kind of winter warmth that feels more like spring. For most neighborhoods from the beach to the I-95 corridor, the day is expected to run mostly sunny with a high near 79 degrees, and a light northeast breeze around 5 to 9 mph.
There is still a small window for spotty showers or a brief thunderstorm. The National Weather Service forecast for 2 miles ESE of Boca Raton Airport calls for a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms before 2 p.m., then a slight chance of showers between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m., and a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms again after 3 p.m. The overall rain chance sits at 20%, so most places will stay dry, but it only takes one fast-moving cell to dampen a stretch of Glades Road or bring a quick shower along the Intracoastal.
The broader South Florida setup supports that kind of isolated activity. The National Weather Service Miami office notes a few showers remain possible across the eastern half of South Florida through Saturday, with sea breezes helping spark a little afternoon and early evening development near the coast. Winds stay light out of the northeast around 6 mph. If you are out late along Federal Highway or heading west toward Lyons Road, conditions should be calm, with the main watch item being the occasional brief shower that can slick up roads for a few minutes.
For boaters and anyone planning time near the water, marine conditions stay relatively tame through tonight. For the coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach out to 20 nautical miles, winds today are forecast from the northeast at 5 to 10 knots with seas 2 to 3 feet. The Intracoastal is expected to run light chop. A slight chance of thunderstorms is included, with a chance of showers early this morning followed by a slight chance late morning and afternoon. Tonight, seas ease to around 2 feet with northeast winds still 5 to 10 knots and light chop continuing on the Intracoastal.
The bigger change is not today. It is what starts building into early next week, with a front and a stronger pressure gradient that turns the forecast from “easy” to “pay attention.”

On the water, conditions begin to ramp up: south winds 15 to 20 knots Sunday and Sunday night, seas 3 to 5 feet and occasionally up to 6 feet, with moderate chop on the Intracoastal.
Sunday night: A 20% chance of showers develops after 1 a.m. Skies stay mostly clear overall with a low near 70 and a south wind around 10 mph.
Monday: Monday stays mostly sunny but turns more unsettled and more active. The forecast calls for a 30% chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m. The high reaches near 82. Winds shift during the day, starting southwest at 9 to 15 mph, then becoming northwest in the afternoon, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Offshore, Monday brings a chance of showers and building seas as winds increase.
Monday night: This is the sharp turn. Boca Raton is forecast to drop to around 50 degrees overnight, with windy north winds 20 to 22 mph and gusts up to 30 mph. Marine conditions turn hazardous: northwest winds 25 to 30 knots, seas building from 5 to 8 feet to 8 to 11 feet, occasionally higher, and rough Intracoastal conditions.
Tuesday: Cooler and breezy. Tuesday is forecast mostly sunny with a high near 67. North winds remain strong at 16 to 20 mph with gusts to 28 mph. Seas remain very elevated early, with 8 to 11 feet offshore and strong winds gradually easing later in the day.
Tuesday night into Wednesday: Tuesday night turns partly cloudy with a low near 57. Wednesday stays mostly sunny with a high near 70, then Wednesday night is mostly clear with a low near 53.
Thursday: The week ends dry and bright, with sunshine and a high near 68.
