DELRAY BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Delray Medical Center has received 17 awards from Healthgrades for 2026, highlighting strong performance across cardiac, vascular, neuroscience, pulmonary, gastrointestinal and critical care services, according to a recent hospital announcement and Healthgrades listings.

Hospital officials say Delray Medical Center is one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery for 2026 and the recipient of the 2026 Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award, distinctions Healthgrades bases on clinical outcomes and patient safety data.

  • In cardiac services, Delray Medical Center was:
  • Named one of Healthgrades America’s 50 Best Hospitals for Cardiac Surgery in 2026
  • Recognized with the Healthgrades 2026 Cardiac Surgery Excellence Award
  • Ranked among the top 10% in the nation for cardiac surgery in 2026
  • Named a Five-Star Recipient for valve surgery for three years in a row (2024–2026)
  • Named a Five-Star Recipient for coronary interventional procedures in 2026
  • Named a Five-Star Recipient for treatment of heart attack for three years in a row (2024–2026)
  • Named a Five-Star Recipient for treatment of heart failure for 24 years in a row (2003–2026)
  • Named a Five-Star Recipient for defibrillator procedures for three years in a row (2024–2026)

Delray Medical Center also received high marks in vascular care, being named a Five-Star Recipient for carotid procedures in 2026, a designation that reflects performance in procedures aimed at reducing stroke risk.

In neurosciences, Healthgrades recognized the hospital as a Five-Star Recipient for treatment of stroke for 19 years in a row, from 2008 through 2026, underscoring long-running stroke care performance.

Pulmonary care was another area of strength. Delray Medical Center received the Healthgrades Pulmonary Care Excellence Award for two years in a row (2025–2026) and was named among the top 10% in the nation for overall pulmonary services during that same period. The hospital was also recognized as a Five-Star Recipient for treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease in 2026 and for treatment of pneumonia for three years in a row (2024–2026).

Gastrointestinal services were highlighted as well. Delray Medical Center was named a Five-Star Recipient for upper gastrointestinal surgeries for five consecutive years (2022–2026) and a Five-Star Recipient for treatment of GI bleed in 2026.

In critical care, Healthgrades awarded Delray Medical Center the Critical Care Excellence Award for two years in a row (2025–2026) and ranked the hospital among the top 10% in the nation for critical care over that same period. The hospital also received Five-Star recognition for treatment of sepsis for 23 years in a row (2004–2026) and for treatment of respiratory failure for four years in a row (2023–2026).

Healthgrades says its awards reflect hospitals that demonstrate superior outcomes based on objective measures such as mortality and complication rates for common conditions and procedures. Patients can review methodology and ratings on the Healthgrades website, which lists Delray Medical Center’s 2026 clinical achievements and specialty awards.

Hospital leaders say the 17 awards collectively point to consistent clinical performance and position Delray Medical Center as one of the nation’s leading hospitals in several high-acuity service lines, including cardiac surgery, pulmonary care and critical care.
