DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — BOCA RATON — Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies are investigating a carjacking that started at a gas station in Deerfield Beach and ended with an arrest after a traffic stop maneuver in Lauderhill.
BSO’s Public Information Office said the incident began around 12:30 p.m. this afternoon at a gas station at 1277 West Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach. Investigators said a male subject carjacked a BMW at that location.
Deputies responded to the scene to investigate, BSO said.
BSO said its V.I.P.E.R. (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) Unit, along with BSO’s Aviation Unit, located the stolen vehicle. The agency said BSO’s V.I.P.E.R. Unit then conducted a PIT maneuver on the vehicle in the area of 3400 West Sunrise Boulevard.
BSO said deputies arrested the male subject driver on scene.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue transported him to a nearby hospital for medical evaluation, according to BSO.
BSO’s Robbery Unit is handling the investigation.
The arrestee was identified by BSO as Antonio L. Dominguez, born 7/20/1994. BSO said criminal charges are pending.
For residents in Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County, the case is a reminder that carjackings and vehicle theft cases can move quickly across city and county lines, and that multiple specialized units may be involved once a stolen vehicle is located. BSO has not released additional details about the circumstances at the gas station, whether anyone was injured during the carjacking, or what charges will be sought.
What happens next is the Robbery Unit investigation and a charging decision. BSO said the case remains developing.
