DANIA BEACH, FL (Boca Post) — 56-year-old Jon Ozell passed away after being involved in a single vehicle in Dania Beach on Monday night.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, at around 9:30 p.m. on April 3, Broward Regional Communications received reports of a traffic crash in the 1500 block of South Federal Highway and Sheridan Street. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. The preliminary investigation reveals that the driver of a 2008 Chevrolet Aveo, Jon Ozell, was traveling southbound on South Federal Highway approaching Southeast 15th Street. The driver drifted to the left across the northbound lanes, struck the curb on the east side of the roadway and continued across Southeast 15th Street into the parking lot of a Miami Grill restaurant. The vehicle struck an unoccupied parked vehicle and came to rest. The parked vehicle struck another unoccupied parked vehicle.

Paramedics transported Ozell to Memorial Regional Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

There was no evidence that another vehicle struck the Aveo, which may have caused the driver to lose control. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
