WEST PALM BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A driver was killed Saturday evening in a crash on Southern Boulevard in West Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
Investigators say the crash occurred around 5:13 p.m. near 3219 Southern Boulevard, west of Australian Avenue. The collision involved a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe and a 2025 Volvo SUV.
According to investigators, the Tahoe was traveling westbound on Southern Boulevard in the right lane when the driver failed to maintain control of the vehicle. The Tahoe struck the north curb and partially traveled onto the sidewalk. The driver then steered left and returned to the outside westbound lane before overcorrecting and steering heavily to the right.
Investigators say the maneuver caused the Tahoe to begin rotating. The vehicle traveled over the north curb and sidewalk and then struck a metal guardrail. The impact caused the Tahoe to overturn. During the crash sequence, the driver and one passenger were ejected from the vehicle.
As the Tahoe overturned, the guardrail was damaged and a section of the metal rail was thrown through the air, striking the roof and windshield of the Volvo SUV traveling nearby. The driver of the Volvo pulled the vehicle to the right and stopped.
The driver of the Tahoe was pronounced deceased at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash, according to investigators.
Two passengers from the Tahoe were also injured. One passenger suffered minor injuries, while another sustained serious injuries, investigators said. The driver of the Volvo reported minor injuries.
The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is investigating the crash.
