Investigators from Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit are looking into a collision that tragically took the life of a pedestrian in Lauderdale Lakes Monday afternoon around 4 p.m.. The Broward County Regional Communications received information about a traffic incident involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in Lauderdale Lakes 4100 block of North State Road 7, at that time. Initial findings indicate that a 2015 Honda Accord was heading north in the center lane towards Northwest 41st Street when it collided with an adult female named Silmine Louizaire who was walking east slightly beyond the designated crosswalk area. She stepped into the lanes heading north. Crossed in front of the Honda car where she was hit by the front passenger side of the vehicle and sadly pronounced deceased by Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue upon their arrival at the scene. The driver of the Honda who was identified as Joshua Nordelus stayed at the scene and collaborated with investigators throughout their inquiries. Investigators reported that they don’t suspect excessive speed, from the driver to have played a role in causing the crash.
