BROWARD COUNTY, FL — BOCA RATON — The Broward Sheriff’s Office Public Information Office is working a developing incident tied to a lifesaving rescue and reunion news conference scheduled for Monday morning.

At 11 a.m. today, Monday, June 8, two off-duty South Florida firefighter/paramedics will be reunited with the 5-year-old boy they saved from drowning, according to BSO.

One of the firefighter/paramedics is from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue. The other is from Miami-Dade Fire Rescue. The near drowning happened in Lauderdale-By-The-Sea on Sunday, May 24.

BSO said the firefighters and the boy’s family are expected to speak with media.

The event is set to take place at the BSO Public Safety Building. BSO said a BSO Public Information Officer will be on scene at approximately 11 a.m.

This is being handled through the BSO Public Information Office. The agencies involved include Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
