Broward Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit detectives are looking into a tragic crash that took the life of a golf cart driver in Dania Beach on Sunday. Just before 6 p.m. on Sept. 14, Broward County Regional Communications received a report of a drowning at 2965 State Road 84 in Dania Beach. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded. Upon arrival, deputies found a golf cart submerged in a body of water. BSO’s Dive Team also arrived and discovered an adult male, Luckinson Pierre, in the water. According to detectives, the initial investigation showed that Pierre was driving the golf cart northbound through the business parking lot when he went through some hedges and off the dock, hitting the starboard side of a yacht before plunging into the canal. When a co-worker came to relieve Pierre, who worked as a security guard at the business, he was unable to find Pierre. A search led to the discovery of the golf cart in the water and the recovery of Pierre, who was declared deceased at the scene. The inquiry into the details surrounding the crash is ongoing.
