BSO, Task Force Arrests Suspected Gang Members Wanted For Murders

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) —Task force arrest South Florida gang members for various shootings and murders.

After an in depth inquiry conducted by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Gang Investigations Task Force and collaborating closely with the Broward State Attorney’s Office along, with law enforcement agencies involved in the case; eight individuals believed to be associated with a dangerous criminal gang have been apprehended based on a comprehensive 33 count indictment that includes accusations of homicide attempts and organized crime activities.

The joint operation started when they found Sigmund Browns fingerprint on a car linked to a murder at a Best Buy in Plantation on January 20th, 2024. Members of BSOs Gang Investigations Task Force and the SAOs were already familiar with Brown as he was a figure, in the infamous Dania Hot Boyz gang (also known as Grand Mafia). They gathered in February 2024 for a meeting regarding ongoing murder cases. Their teamwork led to the capture of eight individuals from the gangs brass and helped solve eight murder cases as well as over a dozen attempted murders, across Broward County.

Here is a rundown of the homicide incidents;

  • On September 16 2021 tragedy struck as Wisdom Williams was fatally shot with their lifeless body discovered in Hallandale Beach.
  • On April 8th, 2023 Antjuan Dobard tragically lost his life in an incident, in Pembroke Park.
  • On May 2nd 2023 Vernaldo Donner and Terri McKenzie were fatally shot near I 95 in Fort Lauderdale. The target of the attack was not present in the vehicle, during the incident.
  • On July 19 2023 Wayne Smith was shot in Hallandale Beach on July 15 2023. Passed away on July 19 2023 due, to the injuries.
  • On September 13 2023 Dorothy Smart was tragically. Lost her life in the driveway of her residence, in Fort Lauderdale.
  • On the 20th of January, 2024 a tragic incident occurred at a Best Buy store, in Plantation where Terrance Farrington Jr was shot and lost his life.
  • On January 28 2024 a tragic incident occurred in Miramar where Johnnie Henderson was fatally shot.

“I want to give a shoutout to the hardworking detectives and the support we received from the State Attorney’s Office and our law enforcement allies for their efforts in making Broward County a safer place by cracking down on these heartless criminals who have caused harm and instilled fear in our communities ” stated Sheriff Dr.Gregory Tony. “Those who choose to do evil should know that we are committed, to ensuring the safety of Broward County without any pause.”

“Our neighborhood is now a secure environment thanks to the collaborative effort between us and our law enforcement allies ” stated Harold F Pryor of Broward State Attorneys Office as he addressed the successful resolution of eight homicides and over a dozen attempted murders. Some involving innocent individuals. Along with the confiscation of illegal firearms from convicted felons. “We are committed, to pursuing justice for the victims and combating gang related violence to enhance the safety of our community.”
