BROWARD COUNTY, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — BOCA RATON — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives in the Weston District say they have arrested a suspect in a reported public assault involving a woman near Golf Club Road in Weston.
BSO said the suspect is a 17-year-old male who was taken into custody Friday, April 17, on one count of attempted sexual battery. After the arrest, BSO said the teen was transported to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing.
The incident BSO described happened at about 4:39 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, near the 16300 block of Golf Club Road. According to the victim, she was sitting on the grass when an unknown subject grabbed her from behind.
BSO said the victim struggled with the attacker. Investigators said the attacker then got up, put on his shoes, and fled on foot.
BSO said surveillance footage captured a light-skinned male wearing a khaki hoodie and distinctive red and black pants exposing himself and pleasuring himself in an adjacent parking lot. Detectives said the same person is then seen slowly approaching the victim, surveying his surroundings, and removing his shoes before grabbing her from behind.

After the reported assault, BSO said detectives launched what the agency described as an intensive and exhaustive investigation to identify and locate the suspect. BSO said detectives used a combination of technological resources and traditional investigative work to make the arrest.
The case sits with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Weston District, which handled the investigation and arrest, according to the agency’s statement.
What happens next is expected to move through the juvenile processing system. BSO said the suspect was taken to the Juvenile Assessment Center for processing following the arrest.
