BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boynton Beach Police are asking the public for help in the cold case homicide of Danielle Chambless, a woman who was shot while driving on Northwest 13th Avenue in Boynton Beach more than a decade ago.
Chambless was shot on Nov. 12, 2015, while driving her vehicle in the city. The case remains open.
The Boynton Beach Police Department said Major Case Detectives are still actively investigating the homicide and remain committed to seeking justice. The department renewed its public appeal this week, saying detectives believe someone may still have information that could help move the investigation forward.
The request is direct: anyone who knows something about the shooting, even after all these years, is being asked to contact Detective Gleicher at 561-742-6152 or by email at [email protected].
Cold case investigations often depend on new witnesses, changed circumstances, or people coming forward after years of silence. In this case, police did not announce an arrest, identify a suspect, or release additional details about the shooting in the public appeal. The department’s message focused on finding information that may still be out there.
The homicide happened on Northwest 13th Avenue, placing the case squarely inside Boynton Beach’s jurisdiction. The Boynton Beach Police Department’s Major Case Detectives remain the agency responsible for the investigation.
The department’s post also drew public reaction from people asking for answers and expressing support for Chambless’ family. One commenter wrote that Chambless “has a son and family that deserves answers and deserves justice,” while others thanked police for continuing to pursue the case. Another commenter asked the department to share more of the story in hopes that someone who knew something at the time may now be willing to come forward.
Police did not ask residents to call 911 with general information. The public contact listed for the case is Detective Gleicher.
For residents, the next step is simple. Anyone with information related to the Danielle Chambless homicide is being asked to contact Boynton Beach Police directly. That includes information from 2015, information heard later, or anything that could help detectives determine what happened and who was responsible.
More than 10 years have passed since Chambless was shot. The case is still active.
