Blake Buchbinder, 13, Passed Away

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — 13-year-old Blake Buchbinder was riding his bike when he was struck and killed by a vehicle in unincorporated Boynton Beach on Wednesday evening.

PBSO deputies and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue firefighters responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian accident in the area of Boynton Beach Boulevard and Lyons Road just before 6 PM on Wednesday, June 14th, 2023.

According to deputies, Michelle Ruf, of Okeechobee, was traveling westbound on Boynton Beach Boulevard within the inside/left through lane. At the same time, 13-year-old Blake Buchbinder of Boynton Beach was on his bicycle northbound across Boynton Beach Boulevard on the west side of Lyons Road within the crosswalk.

Deputies say Buchbinder was crossing against the traffic signals as the vehicle traversed the intersection. Buchbinder traveled into the path of the vehicle; thus, a violent crash occurred as the left front of the vehicle impacted Buchbinder.

Sadly, Buchbinder has succumbed to his injuries.
