BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton Police issued a traffic advisory Tuesday morning for drivers on Yamato Road after a crash shut down two right lanes in the eastbound direction.

According to the advisory, two right eastbound lanes are closed on Yamato just east of NW 2nd Avenue. Police said the crash is causing congestion in the area.

The alert was sent at 9:18 a.m. Tuesday, April 28.

The advisory did not include details on the vehicles involved, injuries, or how long the lane closures are expected to last.

For Boca Raton and Palm Beach County drivers, Yamato Road is a major east-west route, and lane closures near NW 2nd Avenue can back up traffic quickly during the morning and midday hours. Police are asking motorists to seek an alternate route.

Boca Raton Police are the issuing agency for the traffic advisory and are providing the public notice of the lane closures and congestion. Drivers should expect delays through the area while the two right eastbound lanes remain closed and plan extra time or reroute if possible.

Residents and commuters should watch for changing traffic patterns approaching the closure area, follow posted directions, and use caution around the congestion. Updates, including when lanes reopen, were not included in the advisory.
