BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Boca Raton is set for a bright, hot day with plenty of sun and a high near 88. Winds start light out of the northwest this morning, then flip onshore this afternoon as the sea breeze arrives. Tonight stays warm and a bit muggy with a low around 79 and some passing clouds. The weekend trend is even hotter, with heat stress becoming a bigger concern, especially during the afternoon hours
South Florida’s weather pattern is staying locked into a summertime-like setup, and that’s why Boca Raton is looking at another mostly dry day with above-average heat. The National Weather Service notes a strong area of high pressure aloft is sitting over the region, which acts like a lid on the atmosphere.
In plain terms: it helps keep skies mostly clear, limits rain development, and allows the sun to do its work. For today, the air is relatively dry for May standards, so showers are not expected in Boca.
The main change you’ll notice is the daily sea breeze. Winds begin light this morning, then turn easterly this afternoon as cooler Atlantic air pushes inland.
That onshore breeze can take the edge off right at the beach, but it also adds humidity and doesn’t erase the overall heat. The bigger headline is the early-season heat building through the weekend.
Boaters and beachgoers along the Boca Raton coast can expect generally calm marine conditions today and into the weekend. Nearshore Atlantic winds run around 5–10 knots today, turning more onshore later, with seas around 1–2 feet and light chop in the Intracoastal.
By Saturday and Sunday, winds trend southerly around 10–15 knots with occasional higher gusts Saturday night, while seas hold near 2 feet. Early next week, seas build to 2–3 feet with a moderate chop at times, and showers and thunderstorms may create locally higher winds and rougher conditions near storms.
