BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Mostly sunny skies will carry Boca Raton through today with a high near 80 and an east wind around 11 mph. It stays mild tonight, with a low near 71 under partly cloudy skies. The main local concern is the shoreline: dangerous rip currents remain likely at Atlantic beaches through at least Friday evening. Overall, rain chances are very low today, with only a small chance of a brief coastal shower returning later Friday
South Florida’s quiet stretch continues today, and the setup is straightforward: a broad area of high pressure is parked nearby, keeping the atmosphere stable and limiting cloud growth. In the National Weather Service discussion, forecasters note sinking air and a notably dry layer aloft, which is a reliable recipe for “mostly sunny” and very limited rain potential.
For Boca Raton, that means a bright morning, a warm afternoon, and little more than passing fair-weather clouds. The easterly breeze is doing two things at once.
First, it helps keep our daytime highs from running away along the immediate east coast. While interior and southwest Florida can heat up more under this pattern, Boca’s forecast stays closer to the low 80s, with today’s high near 80 and Friday near 81.
Second, that onshore wind is pushing water toward the beaches and maintaining rougher surf conditions than the sky might suggest. The NWS continues to highlight dangerous rip currents along the Atlantic coastline through at least Friday evening.
For the Boca Raton coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), east winds run about 10 to 15 knots today with seas 2 to 3 feet, keeping the Intracoastal at a moderate chop. Tonight stays similar with seas around 2 feet.
Friday eases a bit (northeast 5 to 10 knots), then the weekend looks relatively gentle with seas near 2 feet. Beachgoers should still take the surf seriously: the onshore flow supports a high rip current risk through Friday evening.
Early next week, conditions may turn hazardous as winds strengthen and seas build with an approaching front.
