BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Partly sunny skies and a steady east breeze will make for a pleasant-looking day, with a high near 84 in Boca Raton. It will be noticeably drier than recent days, so most neighborhoods should stay rain-free. The tradeoff is at the beach: a high rip current risk continues, and the surf will remain rough enough to be dangerous for swimmers. Tonight stays warm and partly cloudy, with lows around the upper 70s
Boca Raton is getting a brief break from the sticky, stormy pattern that’s been hanging around. The National Weather Service says a drier, more stable air mass is sliding into South Florida as high pressure strengthens and expands near the Southeast U.S.
and western Atlantic. In plain terms: the “storm fuel” (deep humidity) has been pushed south toward the Florida Straits, and that makes it harder for showers to form over Palm Beach County today and again Saturday.
Even with the drier air, you may still notice periods of cloud cover drifting overhead, especially higher clouds. But the atmosphere near the ground is expected to mix in that drier air during the afternoon, which keeps rain chances very low in Boca (around 10%).
A quick sprinkle can’t be ruled out along the east coast because the wind is blowing in off the Atlantic, but most of the day should be dry. Winds will be a key part of the forecast.
For boaters and beachgoers, conditions stay active on the Atlantic. East winds around 10–15 knots continue today with seas 3–5 feet (occasionally near 6 feet offshore), and the Intracoastal will run a moderate chop.
A lingering northeast swell and steady onshore wind will keep surf and currents elevated. The most important coastal impact is the high rip current risk at east coast beaches through Saturday evening.
If you’re heading to the water, swim near a lifeguard and avoid entering the ocean if you’re not a strong swimmer. Winds ease a bit early next week, but shower and thunderstorm coverage increases, which can create locally higher winds and rougher seas near storms.
