BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Sunday, June 7, 2026 BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Expect a warm, breezy Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds and a high near 87. A brief shower is possible late morning, but most neighborhoods stay dry. The bigger concern is the beach: dangerous rip currents are expected along the Atlantic coast through this evening. Tonight turns mostly cloudy and muggy with lows near 79, and rain chances begin trending higher again as we head into midweek
South Florida’s weather pattern today is being steered by a broad “lid” of high pressure aloft over the Southeast U.S., which tends to limit widespread storm growth and keeps the day-to-day forecast fairly steady. For Boca Raton, that means a typical early-summer mix of clouds and sun, warm temperatures, and an onshore breeze.
The National Weather Service notes that winds will stay mainly out of the east, and that matters locally because it keeps the Atlantic side breezy while pushing the better storm focus away from the immediate east coast. The main trigger for any showers today is the daily sea-breeze circulation, but with the prevailing wind coming in off the ocean, the most reliable lift and higher rain coverage should favor the Gulf side of the peninsula.
That’s why Boca’s rain odds remain low today (around 20%), with only a slight chance of a quick shower late morning or later in the day. Temperatures top out in the upper 80s, and while it will feel sticky, the more intense heat index values are expected to be focused farther west across Southwest Florida.
Locally, plan for a warm afternoon made a bit more comfortable by the breeze. Looking ahead, the forecast becomes more active.
For Boca Raton’s coastal waters (Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach), expect easterly winds around 10–15 knots today with seas 2–3 feet, creating a moderate chop on the Intracoastal. A few showers are possible, with a slight chance of a thunderstorm late.
Tonight, winds ease and turn more southeast (5–10 knots after midnight) with seas still 2–3 feet. Beachgoers should take the rip current threat seriously: a High Rip Current Risk continues for Atlantic beaches through this evening, even if the weather looks inviting.
If you’re heading to the sand, swim near lifeguards and avoid entering the water if you’re not a strong swimmer.
