Arthur Amarando, 65, Arrested For Battery
BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2024) — A Century Village man was arrested after a violent confrontation about speeding cars the community.
Arthur Amarando, 65, of Cornwall C in Century Village Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office for battery on a 65+ year old victim, to spite being 65+ himself.
According to PBSO, deputies responded to a Century Village Boca Raton just before 2 PM on Monday, January 15th, 2024, in reference to a battery that had just occurred. Deputies learned from witnesses that there was a confrontation between Amarando and another elderly man. The victim reported that Amarando punched him in the face.
The victim told deputies that he felt Amarando was driving too fast as the two passed each other in the parking lot. The victim said that Amarando attempted to block him from parking his vehicle. The two eventually parked their vehicles and exchanged words before Amarando punched the victim in the face.
An independent witness said that she heard yelling coming from the parking lot and observed Amarando exit his black Lexus, sporting a New Jersey license plate, approach the victim and punch him in the face. The witness noted that the victim did not fight back. Instead, the victim reached for his phone to photograph Amarando and the vehicle.
The following day, deputies spoke to Amarando who admitted to exchanging words with the victim but denies ever striking the victim. Amarando was arrested for one count of 784.08(1) Battery On Person Over 65 Years Of Age
Amarando was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 11:24 AM on Tuesday, January 16th, 2024 and released the following day. A judge ordered that Amarando have no contact with the victim or any access to weapons.
