45-Year-Old Century Village Resident Denise Delpesce Arrested, Charged With Battery On Elderly (65+)

BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A 45-year-old Century Village resident was arrested for battery on an elderly person.

Denise Delpesce, 45, of Preston E in Century Village West in unincorporated Boca Raton, has been arrested by the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office. Boca Post has been notified that the charge filed is 784.08(2c) Battery On Person 65 Years Of Age Or Older (Domestic). While the charge may be a simple battery, since the victim is 65+, it is enhanced to a Felony.

The arrest followed an incident where Delpesce called 9-1-1 and told responding deputies she wanted to be Baker Acted because she considered herself a threat to herself and others. Delpesce admitted that she pulled the the 65+ year old victim’s hair earlier in the evening. The victim told deputies that Delpesce pulled her hair several times.

While the victim did not have any visible injuries, she did tell deputies that she suffered from a headache following the hair pulling. The victim said the two were arguing about money and Thanksgiving before the physical altercation occured.

Delpesce, who is reportedly registered to live at the Century Village address, was booked into booked into the Palm Beach County Jail at 10 PM on Monday, November 20th, 2023.

It is unclear if CVW management is aware of Delpesce’s living status. Most 55+ communities have policies’ around ‘long-term guests’. Many residents skirt these policies and allow family members and friends to stay with them. Many suspects who are arrested in 55+ communities, like Kings Point in Delray Beach and Century Village in West Boca Raton, were found to have been staying with relatives in the communities in violation of HOA policies.
