Frederick Muller Arrested By Bso For Failure To Register

OAKLAND PARK, FL (Boca Post) — The Broward Sheriff’s Office has arrested Frederick Muller for failure to register in the area after they talked to him regarding accusations that he was luring children near the community center in Oakland Park.

Broward Sheriff’s Office tells us that a registered sexual predator was spotted talking to children near a community center last Thursday, and detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office Career Criminal Unit are alerting the public to the information and asking for potential victims to come forward.

According to investigators, on Thursday, Sept. 8, BSO deputies responded to Collins Community Center, located at 3800 N.E. Third Avenue after a witness alerted deputies that a man appeared to be talking to children, trying to lure the children to him. It appears the children had recently been dismissed for the day from Oakland Park Elementary School.

Deputies located the man and identified him as Frederick Muller, a registered sexual predator. Following an investigation, deputies arrested Muller for Failure to Comply with Registration Law, a sex offender violation charge of Failure to Register as Required, and a sexual predator violation of Renew Information on Driver’s License within 48 Hours. Muller is currently being held in the Broward County Jail on a $10,500 bond.

Florida prison records show that Muller was convicted in Broward County of lewd and lascivious battery on a person aged 12 to 15 and was released from prison on June 27, 2022.

At this time, no victims have come forward from last Thursday’s incident. If anyone was victimized by Muller or has pertinent information regarding this incident, they are asked to contact BSO Career Criminal Unit Detective Marlene Schnakenberg at 954-321-4789.
