COOPER CITY, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — Ellen McGuire of Pembroke Pines passed away after a deadly accident in Cooper City on Saturday, August 6th, 2022.

From Broward Sheriff’s Office:

Broward Sheriff’s Office traffic homicide detectives are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that killed a driver in Cooper City Saturday evening.
At approximately 5:49 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, Broward Regional Communications received a call about a crash near the 9400 block of Sheridan Street in Cooper City. BSO deputies and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded.
The preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that Ellen Philomena McGuire was traveling southbound exiting a plaza to turn east onto Sheridan Street in a 2012 Honda Civic. At the same time, Harold Beharry was traveling westbound on Sheridan Street in the left-thru lane in a Chevrolet Silverado truck. The driver of the Civic pulled into the path of the Silverado, whose driver attempted to stop prior to the crash. Following the crash, one vehicle came to a final rest in the eastbound lanes and the other vehicle came to a rest in the westbound lanes.
McGuire was transported by BSO Air Rescue to Memorial Regional Hospital and was pronounced deceased early Sunday morning. Beharry was also transported to the hospital with injuries.
At this time, neither excessive speed nor impairment are considered factors in the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
