FLORIDA — A Florida Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 79-year-old man last known to be in the Clermont area of Lake County, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
FDLE identified the missing person as William Larovera, 79. He is described as a white male with white hair and brown eyes. He is listed at 6 feet tall and 218 pounds.
The alert is centered on Clermont in Lake County, which sits west of Central Florida’s core and is a common travel corridor for South Florida residents heading north and west by car. Silver Alerts are used to help quickly spread identifying information to the public when an older adult is reported missing, so people who may cross paths with the person can recognize them and notify law enforcement.
Authority for the investigation and response sits with the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, with FDLE distributing the statewide alert information. Anyone who has information is asked to contact the Lake County Sheriff’s Office at 352-343-2101 Ext. 4 or call 911.
What happens next is driven by tips. Residents who are in the Clermont area, traveling through Lake County, or who may have seen someone matching the description are being asked to pay attention and report information directly to law enforcement. The FDLE flyer with the identifying details remains available online.
