DELRAY BEACH, FL — Delray Beach water customers who pay online will need another option for about a week.

The city's Utility Department is transitioning to a new billing system in July, and online payments will be suspended from July 20 through July 28, 2026, according to the City of Delray Beach. Late fees will be waived from July 20 through August 7, 2026.

The switch moves the department to Tyler Enterprise ERP, an online payment portal the city says will let customers create accounts, securely store credit card information, and pay by e-check. Those features will be available once the new portal goes live on July 28.

What residents should know

Customers who typically receive their bills toward the end of the month may see a delay, according to the city.

During the outage, payments can still be made by mail or in person. The city said checks can be sent to the processing center at P.O. Box 288242, Tampa, FL 33630-8242, or dropped in the drop box in front of City Hall at 100 NW 1st Avenue, Delray Beach. Any payment made during the transition window will not post to accounts until July 28, 2026, according to the city.

New fees starting July 28

The new portal comes with a revised fee schedule. According to the city, transaction fees starting July 28, 2026 will be:

  • Payments by phone: a $0.50 transaction fee
  • E-check payments: a $1.95 fee, plus a $0.50 transaction fee
  • Credit card payments: a 3.25 percent processing fee with a $2.50 minimum, plus a $0.50 transaction fee

The city's notice does not indicate whether the new fee schedule replaces or adds to any prior charges.

Contact and status

Customers with questions about their bill, payment options, or account can email [email protected] or call the Utility Billing Division at 561-243-7100. The office is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Utility Department announced the transition in a public notice posted June 29, 2026. Beyond the fee schedule, alternate payment routes, and outage window, the city has not released additional detail on how existing autopay arrangements, stored payment methods, or recurring drafts will carry over to the new portal.
