LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL — A Palm Beach County wrongful death lawsuit filed last week alleges that a patient at Select Specialty Hospital in Lake Worth Beach developed a severe hip bedsore during his hospitalization that later contributed to his death, according to a complaint filed in circuit court.

The complaint was filed June 29, 2026, in the Circuit Court of the 15th Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County by Staci Dorish, acting as personal representative of the estate of Robert Radlosky. The defendant is Select Specialty Hospital - Palm Beach, Inc., doing business as Select Specialty Hospital - Palm Beach. The case is docketed as Dorish v. Select Specialty Hospital - Palm Beach, Inc., Case No. 502026CA007276XXXAMB, and has been assigned to Division AD.

The plaintiff is represented by Scott M. Fischer of Morgan & Morgan, according to court records. The filing reviewed by Boca Post does not include a response from the defendant.

According to the complaint, Robert Radlosky was hospitalized at the defendant's facility from February 2, 2025 through March 12, 2025. The lawsuit alleges that during that stay he developed a severe left hip bedsore that was first documented in the hospital's records on February 26, 2025, roughly 24 days after his admission. The complaint characterizes the wound as an in-house acquired injury.

The lawsuit alleges that Radlosky had existing skin breakdown on other parts of his body when he arrived at the facility and that the defendant was aware he was at heightened risk for additional pressure injuries. The complaint alleges the defendant failed to provide proper care under those circumstances.

Radlosky died on July 15, 2025, according to the complaint, after more than six months of what the filing describes as suffering related to the hip wound. The lawsuit alleges the death certificate lists infected Stage 4 decubitus ulcers as the cause of death.

The complaint brings two counts against the hospital under Chapter 766 of the Florida Statutes, the state's medical negligence law. Count I is a wrongful death claim on behalf of the estate and Radlosky's surviving spouse, Dorothy Radlosky. Count II is a survival claim seeking damages for the injuries Radlosky is alleged to have suffered before his death, including pain, disfigurement, mental anguish and medical expenses.

The lawsuit alleges the hospital owed a duty to provide care consistent with the prevailing professional standard for similar health care providers and that it breached that duty. The complaint states the plaintiff has complied with the pre-suit requirements of Chapter 766, which governs medical malpractice claims in Florida.

Each count seeks damages in excess of $50,000, plus costs and interest. The plaintiff has demanded a trial by jury.

In an initial discovery disclosure filed alongside the complaint, the plaintiff lists economic damages that include a funeral bill of $6,039.45, a Medicare lien of $75,918.56 and an AARP Medicare lien of $1,019.15. The disclosure also identifies several other Palm Beach County medical providers whose records may be relevant to the case, including St. Mary's Medical Center, Delray Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, HCA Florida JFK North Hospital and The Rehabilitation Center of the Palm Beaches.

The allegations in the complaint have not been proven in court. The case is newly filed, a summons has been issued, and a jury trial has been demanded. No hearing date is listed in the reviewed records.
