LAKE WORTH BEACH, FL — A fatal crash in Lake Worth Beach left a 31-year-old woman dead Sunday night after she was struck while crossing Lucerne Avenue, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened around 7:59 p.m. near the intersection of Lucerne Avenue and North Lakeside Drive. Investigators say a 2025 Hyundai Genesis was traveling westbound on Lucerne Avenue in the outside lane when the pedestrian entered the roadway.

According to PBSO, the pedestrian, identified as Morgan Destiny Moore of Lake Worth Beach, was crossing from the south side of Lucerne Avenue to the north and was not using a marked crosswalk. Investigators say she traveled into the path of the vehicle, and the front right of the car struck the right side of her body.

Moore was thrown from the vehicle and landed on the pavement. Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded and transported her to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment.

She later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:04 p.m., according to investigators.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as a 71-year-old Palm Beach man, was wearing a seatbelt and was not reported injured. No alcohol or drug impairment was indicated in the report.
