Today's Weather - Wednesday, June 10, 2026
BOCA RATON, FL — Partly sunny skies and a steady east breeze will make for a warm, beachy Wednesday in Boca Raton, with only a slight chance of a passing shower or thunderstorm. Highs top out near 86, and it will feel hotter at times with humidity. Clouds increase tonight with lows near 79. Thursday looks mostly sunny and a touch hotter near 88, with only a very small late-day storm chance
Today’s setup is a bit of a split decision in the atmosphere, and that helps explain why Boca’s forecast looks fairly quiet while other parts of South Florida get busier. Near the ground, high pressure over the western Atlantic is still in control, keeping an easterly (onshore) breeze in place.
That onshore flow tends to push the main sea-breeze boundary inland and can limit how quickly storms organize right along the Atlantic coast. Higher up, though, the National Weather Service notes a strengthening dip in the jet-stream pattern over the eastern Gulf of Mexico.
That feature can add lift and help storms grow—especially where it overlaps with the Gulf-side sea breeze. The result is a better focus for scattered to numerous afternoon and evening storms on the Gulf coast and interior, with some activity potentially spreading toward the middle of the peninsula.
For Boca Raton and the immediate east coast today, the local forecast keeps rain chances low (around 20%). Still, don’t rule out a brief shower or a quick thunderstorm late morning into midday.
Atlantic waters off Boca Raton stay in good shape for small craft today with east winds 10–15 knots and seas around 2 feet. Expect a moderate chop on the Intracoastal early, easing to a lighter chop tonight as winds turn more southeast around 10 knots.
Thunderstorm coverage is expected to be lower over the Atlantic than the Gulf, but any storm can briefly kick up higher winds and seas and produce dangerous lightning. Beachgoers should also factor in a moderate rip current risk along portions of the Palm Beach and Broward beaches, which can affect Boca-area swimmers—use guarded beaches and avoid swimming alone.
