BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Mostly sunny skies will carry Boca Raton through the day with a high near 87 and a steady southeast breeze that can gust around 20 mph. Most of the afternoon storm activity should focus inland and toward the Gulf side, leaving the immediate east coast with only a low chance of a brief shower. Tonight stays warm and partly cloudy near 81, with only a slight late-night shower or thunder chance. The bigger impact remains at the beach: a high risk of rip currents continues along the Atlantic coast

South Florida’s weather pattern is staying locked in for the holiday weekend, and that’s why Boca Raton’s forecast looks fairly steady from day to day. The National Weather Service notes high pressure is set up over the western Atlantic and extending into Florida, keeping an east to southeast wind in place.

That onshore breeze is a big reason we’ll keep seeing warm, humid air and a “summer-like” feel, even though widespread rain is not expected right along the coast today. With a stronger easterly wind, the typical Gulf breeze has a harder time pushing east.

In plain terms: the main collision zone for sea-breeze storms sets up farther inland and toward the west coast. The forecast discussion highlights that the highest rain and storm coverage should be over interior and western parts of South Florida each afternoon, while the east coast metro areas (including Boca) often end up with little or no rain.

For Boca Raton today, that matches the local forecast: mostly sunny, high near 87, and only a small chance of a late shower or storm tonight. Even when storms are limited, the heat still matters.

Boaters and beachgoers should plan around persistent southeast winds and building seas. Nearshore Atlantic waters from Jupiter Inlet to Deerfield Beach run around 10–15 knots today with seas 2–3 feet, then increase tonight into 15–20 knots with seas 2–4 feet (occasionally higher).

Seas build further Sunday into early week, commonly 3–5 feet with occasional 6-foot sets offshore, and choppy intracoastal conditions in exposed areas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms remain possible on the waters, and winds/seas can jump quickly near storms.

Along the beach, strong onshore flow supports a high rip current risk through at least Tuesday evening—use guarded beaches and avoid swimming alone.
