FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives have arrested four people in connection with a North Lauderdale shooting that left one person dead and another injured, according to BSO.

The shooting was reported around 1 a.m. Friday, May 8, near the 7900 block of Southwest Seventh Court, BSO said. Broward County Regional Communications received reports of gunfire in the area. Broward Sheriff’s Office deputies and North Lauderdale Fire Rescue responded.

On scene, emergency crews found two shooting victims tied to a 2020 Ford Mustang, investigators said. A 19-year-old was located inside the Mustang with multiple gunshot wounds. A 20-year-old was located outside the vehicle with a single gunshot wound.

BSO said the Air Rescue Unit transported the 19-year-old to Broward Health North hospital. Paramedics transported the 20-year-old to the same hospital. The 20-year-old’s injuries were listed as not life-threatening, BSO said. The 19-year-old was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigators said the two shooting victims and two other victims were sitting inside the Mustang when four suspects arrived in a black-colored vehicle. Witnesses told investigators the suspects got out armed with handguns and fired multiple shots into the Mustang, then fled, BSO said.

BSO said investigators identified the suspect vehicle as a black Honda Accord. A BOLO was issued to surrounding agencies.

The vehicle was later spotted by a Fort Lauderdale Police Department officer, according to BSO. A pursuit followed. BSO said the suspects bailed out of the vehicle near the 900 block of Southwest 13th Street in Fort Lauderdale.

After the bailout, four suspects were located and arrested, BSO said. Investigators also recovered firearms from inside the vehicle.

BSO identified the arrested suspects as two adult males and two juvenile males. BSO said the four face one count each of premeditated murder in the first degree and three counts of attempted murder in the first degree, along with other charges.

The case remains under investigation by the BSO Homicide Unit.

For residents in Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County, the case is a reminder of how quickly violent-crime investigations can cross city and county lines, with multiple agencies involved once a BOLO is issued and a suspect vehicle is located. BSO is the investigating agency on the shooting, and Fort Lauderdale Police Department was involved in locating the vehicle that led to the pursuit and arrests.

What happens next will move through the criminal justice process for the two adults, while the two juveniles will be handled through the juvenile system. BSO said the investigation continues.
