DEERFIELD BEACH, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are searching for possible sexual assault and/or battery victims in Broward County following an arrest in Palm Beach County.

Detectives with BSO’s Career Criminal Unit, working with investigators from the Deerfield Beach District, said they are looking for anyone who may have been victimized by Verwayne Alexander. Detectives said Alexander has ties to Broward County and may have victimized additional people in Broward.

BSO said Alexander was arrested April 2, 2026, in Palm Beach County on one count of sexual assault, one count of kidnapping and four counts of indecent exposure.

Before that Palm Beach County arrest, BSO detectives were investigating Alexander in connection with a Broward County indecent exposure case, according to investigators.

During that investigation, BSO detectives said they learned Alexander was an unregistered sexual predator. A warrant was issued March 10 for one count each of failure to register, failure to report and indecent exposure, BSO said.

BSO said Alexander was later located and arrested on that warrant by the Riviera Beach Police Department the same day.

Now, BSO investigators said they believe Alexander may have assaulted or exposed himself to women in Broward County. Detectives are asking those victims to come forward.

Authority for the Broward-side investigation sits with BSO’s Career Criminal Unit, with support from the Deerfield Beach District investigators. The Palm Beach County arrest and charges were handled through the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, according to BSO.

What happens next is driven by tips and victim reports. BSO is asking anyone with information to contact BSO Career Criminal Unit Det. Elaine Seedig at 954-321-4200 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.

People who want to remain anonymous and be eligible for a cash reward can contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), online at browardcrimestoppers.org, or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the United States.

For residents in Boca Raton and across Palm Beach County, the case is a reminder that investigations and victim searches can cross county lines. BSO is specifically asking women in Broward County who believe they may have been assaulted or exposed to by Alexander to report it, even if they did not come forward at the time.
