CORAL SPRINGS, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — Coral Springs families will head to Sportsplex Park on Saturday, March 28, for the return of the city’s annual Hoppin’ Into Springs Egg Hunt, a free spring event for children ages 3 to 8.

The event is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sportsplex Park, 2800 Sportsplex Drive. The City of Coral Springs is organizing the program through its Parks and Recreation Department, which is handling registration and event operations.

Children will take part in a traditional spring egg hunt during age-appropriate time slots, collecting colorful eggs filled with candy. The city is also planning a sensory-friendly egg hunt from 9 to 9:30 a.m. for children with sensory sensitivities. That portion of the event is designed to provide a calmer setting and a more supportive environment before the larger activities begin.

The annual hunt has become a recurring city event aimed at local families, with the city framing it as both a seasonal activity and a community gathering. Parks and Recreation Director Rob Hunter said the event has grown into a spring tradition for many residents and gives children a chance to stay active and spend time together in a structured setting.

Beyond the egg hunt itself, the city is adding several extras meant to turn the morning into more than a quick pickup-and-go event. Each participant will receive themed sunglasses and a ticket for a free sweet treat. Families attending can also expect a DJ, arts and crafts, a bounce house, and a visit from the Bunny.

The event is limited to Coral Springs residents. That restriction matters because the city is not opening the hunt to the general public, and organizers have made clear that participation will be controlled through advance sign-up rather than day-of admission.

Registration is required, space is limited, and walk-ups will not be accepted. Participants are also expected to bring their own basket and arrive 15 minutes before their assigned hunt time. Registration opened Monday, March 2.

For parents, the main takeaway is straightforward: this is a city-run, residents-only event with assigned time slots, and families will need to register ahead of time rather than plan on showing up at the park and joining in. The sensory-friendly session is scheduled first, from 9 to 9:30 a.m., followed by the broader event window running until noon.

For Coral Springs, the event is part of the city’s regular calendar of family recreation programming, using one of its larger public park spaces to host a seasonal gathering built around children’s activities. For residents deciding whether to attend, the practical details are the most important ones — who can go, when it starts, where it is, and what is required before arrival.

Hoppin’ Into Springs is set for Saturday, March 28, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sportsplex Park in Coral Springs.
