A motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Thursday in Dania Beach. Now the Broward Sheriffs Office Traffic Homicide Unit is looking into what happened. Everything started when Broward County Regional Communications got a call about a wreck involving a vehicle and a motorcycle at 1;41 p.m. On August 21. The accident occurred near the intersection of State Road 84 and Southwest 26th Terrace, in Dania Beach.Detectives say Lidia Kachanova was behind the wheel of a 2019 Kia Soul heading west on State Road 84. She was initially in the turn lane but then switched to the left thru lane. That’s when she pulled into the path of a Harley Davidson. A 2006 Electra Glide. That was already traveling in the thru lane. The motorcycle crashed into the passenger side of the Kia Soul sending it sliding across the ground before it finally came to a stop, on the north side of the road. The Kia Soul pulled over after the collision. Emergency responders from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue. Took the motorcyclist, an adult man to Broward Health Medical Center. Sadly he was declared dead when he got there. For now it doesn’t look like the driver was going fast or under the influence. Those things don’t seem to have played a part, in what happened. The authorities are still looking into it.
