The Honorable Judge Julio Gonzalez presided over the oath taking in the presence of hundreds of attendees at Bailey Hall, on the Broward College campus located in Davie on a Tuesday afternoon.Several individuals involved in the program spoke about the advancements seen during Sheriff Dr Tonys tenure and expressed gratitude for his guidance and dedication to upholding safety in Broward County.”Today I had the privilege of recommitting to my duty of safeguarding the residents of Broward County.This occasion holds significance for me it underscores my dedication to guaranteeing the security and welfare of our community.Together we strive towards an more resilient future, for everyone. BSO stands as one of the public safety agencies in the country that offers law enforcement services to 12 cities and the unincorporated areas within the county while also providing fire rescue services to nine contract cities. Apart from safeguarding county courthouses and ensuring safety at Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport and Port Everglades through both law enforcement and fire rescue efforts BSO manages regional support services such, as K–9 units SWAT teams, marine patrol, training division, bomb detection units and aviation services. It is responsible for overseeing the four county detention facilities and coordinating emergency 911 response and communication services for cities, in Broward County.
