BSO detectives have successfully found 71 year old Bonita Toller, as reported by the Broward Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit. Toller has been located safe and has joyfully reunited with her family. Following an alert issued last Friday, August 2, when she was last seen near the 5700 block of Rock Island Road in Tamarac. This update was provided by Claudinne Caro, a bilingual PIO.

BSO didn’t find Bonita Toller, I did Shannon Rodriguez.
I noticed her walking around aimlessly in the parking lot of the company I work for GA Telesis.
At first I thought she was homeless, it was hot outside so I brought her two waters but when I got closer I noticed that she most likely wasn’t homeless because she only had a small little handbag and when she said a sentence that wasn’t coherent I knew something wasn’t right. I knew in my heart that she might have some form of dementia and probably got out of her family home.
That is when I brought her inside the building and some coworkers of mine called the non-emergency number of Fort Lauderdale as I kept talking to Bonita to get as much information as I could for the operator.
Cops finally showed and said there wasn’t much they can do and told her to leave because she is on private property so she walked out and they let her walk away.
After 30 minutes or an hour the same cops returned to say thank you for calling because she was a missing person.
I was happy that she didn’t get far and that the cops run the name she gave them even though they thought it was fake. Just wished they did it before turning her way.
I am extremely grateful that Bonita is reunited with her family and I just hope Bonita gets the help she needs to live a happy and safe life.
