The Homicide and Crime Scene units from BSO arrived to look into the incident and talk to witnesses and family members. After thorough investigation, detectives concluded that Laren Lenworth Emile, aged 31, was the individual behind both the homicide and the fire.

Following their investigation, detectives secured an arrest warrant for Emile. He was then taken into custody on Thursday, February 15th and is now being held at BSO’s Main Jail. Emile has been charged with first degree murder and arson.

TAMARAC, FL — Broward detectives investigate circumstances around fatal Tamarac fire.

The detectives from Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit are currently investigating a tragic fire that took place in Tamarac early on Tuesday morning.

At around 3;30 a.m. on December 26th, reports of a fire in an apartment complex located at 7900 S. Colony Circle reached Broward County Regional Communications. BSO deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue promptly responded, evacuating the building and successfully extinguishing the fire. Unfortunately, one individual named Keera Brabham, aged 29, was discovered inside apartment 203. She was transported to a nearby hospital but was pronounced deceased.

BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene units have been dispatched to actively investigate the incident, processing the scene thoroughly while interviewing witnesses and family members. The Broward Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death.
