UPDATE
The Homicide Unit detectives of the Broward Sheriff’s Office have arrested a 17-year-old boy in relation to a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man in Tamarac.
On Wednesday, November 22nd, at approximately 7;31 p.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a report of gunshots heard near the area of Northwest 79th Avenue in Tamarac. BSO district deputies and Tamarac Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene. Upon arrival, BSO deputies found Mateo Delgado with a gunshot wound. Paramedics on site declared Delgado dead.
BSO homicide detectives were called to investigate the circumstances surrounding this tragic shooting. Preliminary findings suggest that Delgado was shot while inside a vehicle, which led him to crash into a nearby pole.
Through their investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the suspect and subsequently executed a search warrant at his residence in Margate. The 17 year old has been taken into custody and is now facing charges of felony murder at the Juvenile Assessment Center.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office Homicide Unit is currently investigating a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man in Tamarac last week.
On the evening of Wednesday, November 22nd, at around 7;31 p.m., authorities received a call from Broward County Regional Communications reporting gunshots fired near the 7000 block of Northwest 79th Avenue in Tamarac. Deputies from the Broward Sheriff’s Office and Tamarac Fire Rescue promptly responded to the scene where they found Mateo Delgado with a gunshot wound. In an effort to locate the shooter, deputies established a perimeter. Unfortunately, paramedics pronounced Delgado dead at the scene.
Detectives from BSO’s homicide unit have been called in to investigate and determine the circumstances leading up to this tragic shooting incident. Initial findings indicate that Delgado was inside a vehicle when he was shot, subsequently causing him to lose control and crash into a nearby pole.
