LAUDERHILL, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2023) — A man was struck by a car and killed in Lauderhill on Friday evening.
Lauderhill Police and Lauderhill Fire Rescue responded to a vehicle crash in the 5500 block of Norh University Drive in Lauderhill just after 1 AM on Friday, July 28th, 2023.
Lauderhill PD has since asked BSO to assist with the traffic homicide investigation. Investigators with BSO say that the driver, a Coral Springs man, was traveling northbound on North University Drive when the victim attempted to cross the street, not near any crosswalks. The driver attempted to swerve to avoid a collision; however, there was not enough time.
Paramedics declared the victim deceased at the scene.
Investigators say that the driver was cooperative and remained at the scene after the accident. Investigators also say that they do not suspect speed or impairment to be contributing factors in this crash.
