WILTON MANORS, FL – Boca Post (BocaPost.com) — A man was killed after crashing his motorcycle into another vehicle in Wilton Manors on Monday, April 3rd, 2023.

According to the Broward Sheriff’s Office, the fatal crash occurred just after 9:30 p.m. on April 3, near the 200 block of Northeast 26th Street. Officers with Wilton Manors Police Department responded and requested BSO’s traffic homicide detectives also respond to investigate.

According to BSO investigators, the preliminary investigation revealed that Alec Schoemaker-Caceres was in a 2021 Kia Forte traveling eastbound on Northeast 26th Street. At the same time, the driver of a 2022 Sanyung 169cc motorcycle was traveling westbound on Northeast 26th Street. At some point, Schoemaker-Caceres attempted to negotiate a left turn to go northbound on Northeast Second Avenue and turned into the motorcycle’s path. The maneuver caused the motorcycle to strike the Kia, and the motorcycle’s driver was ejected from the two-wheeled vehicle.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue transported the motorcycle operator to Broward Health Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased at approximately 9:57 p.m.

Detectives say neither excessive speed nor impairment is considered a contributing factor to the crash. The investigation continues.
