WELLINGTON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2026) — A serious traffic crash left a teen critically injured Monday night in West Palm Beach after a collision involving an electric skateboard and another vehicle, according to the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

A 14-year-old girl riding an electric skateboard along Pinion Drive was struck by a Kawasaki driven by a 14-year-old boy, according to investigators. The crash was reported around 10:06 p.m. in the 9300 block of Pinion Drive. PBSO said the Kawasaki was traveling westbound while the teen on the skateboard was traveling eastbound when the front and left side of the Kawasaki collided with her.

Both were transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center as trauma alerts. Investigators said the driver sustained minor injuries. The teen on the skateboard was taken to the pediatric intensive care unit unconscious and intubated. A hospital update indicated she suffered two brain bleeds, a lacerated spleen, hip fracture, bleeding pelvis, a dissected vessel on one side of the brain, and a pseudo aneurysm on the other side.

PBSO listed the vehicle as a 2007 Kawasaki. It is not known at this time whether it is a motorcycle, dirt bike, or some other off-road vehicle.

The case remains under investigation.
