BOCA RATON, FL (Boca Post) (Copyright © 2025) — Three advisories are posted for the Boca Raton area this morning, and they are all pointing in the same direction: the Atlantic side is not a casual beach day.

A Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 AM to 7 PM Monday, calling for northeast winds around 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph along the coastal counties, including Boca Raton. Expect it to feel sharp and pushy at times—especially near open areas like the beach, the Intracoastal, and on exposed east-west roads.

A High Surf Advisory remains in effect until 1 AM Tuesday, with large breaking waves expected in the surf zone. The surf is expected to be large enough to create dangerous swimming and surfing conditions, along with localized beach erosion.

A Rip Current Statement is posted alongside a High Rip Current Risk, which is expected from 7 AM Monday through Thursday evening. Rip currents can form quickly in this setup and can pull even strong swimmers away from shore.

A. Today’s Weather – Monday, December 15, 2025

For Boca Raton and the nearby coastal strip, today is a mixed bag—wet early, breezy all day, and trending calmer as the clock moves on.

The National Weather Service calls for a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 AM. So if you’re heading out for the school run, a commute down I-95, or an early errand up Glades Road, keep an eye out for quick downpours and a storm or two before the morning settles. Once we get past that early window, the forecast shifts away from the stormier look and stays mostly cloudy overall.

Temperatures will run mild for mid-December, with a high near 73. It won’t feel summer-like, though—because the wind is going to be the story. Expect northeast winds 18 to 22 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph in the Boca area. That means the palms will be moving, loose outdoor items can get knocked around, and driving may feel jumpy in certain spots—particularly for higher-profile vehicles and on bridges and causeways.

Rain totals today are expected to be light in most spots, but not necessarily everywhere. The forecast calls for new rainfall amounts between a tenth and a quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. In plain terms: many neighborhoods may just get a passing shower, but if you end up under one of the heavier cells early, you could pick up more in a short burst.

By tonight, conditions are expected to quiet down further. It stays mostly cloudy early, then gradually becomes mostly clear, with a low around 66. The breeze does not disappear. Winds remain out of the northeast at 14 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 28 mph, so it may still sound and feel windy around the house—especially in more exposed parts of the city and the coastal neighborhoods.

Beachgoers should treat today as a warning-sign kind of day, not a “maybe it’ll be fine” day. With high surf, a high rip current risk, and strong onshore wind all lined up, the ocean can look deceptively inviting while staying unsafe. Even if skies brighten later, the hazards don’t automatically go away with the rain.

C. 7 Day Outlook

Today (Mon): High near 73 with a 50% chance of showers and thunderstorms before 9 AM, then mostly cloudy. Windy with NE winds 18–22 mph, gusts up to 30 mph. Beach hazards remain elevated, and the Wind Advisory runs through early evening.

Tonight (Mon Night): Low around 66. Mostly cloudy early, turning mostly clear. Breezy, NE 14–20 mph, gusts up to 28 mph.

Tuesday: Mostly sunny, high near 74. NE wind around 15 mph, gusts up to 23 mph. The High Surf Advisory continues until 1 AM Tuesday, and rip current risk remains a concern along the coast.

Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, low around 67. East wind 13–15 mph, gusts up to 21 mph.

Wednesday: Partly sunny, warmer with a high near 78. East wind 11–14 mph, gusts up to 20 mph. Rip current risk continues through the coastal stretch.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, low around 70. East wind around 11 mph.

Thursday: A 20% chance of showers after 1 PM. Partly sunny, high near 80. Southeast wind around 11 mph. The high rip current risk is posted through Thursday evening, so the beach remains the main hazard even as daytime temperatures climb.

Thursday Night: Mostly cloudy, low around 69. Southeast wind around 7 mph, becoming southwest after midnight.

Friday: Partly sunny, high near 81. West wind 6–10 mph, shifting northeast in the afternoon. Winds ease compared to Monday’s advisory-level gusts.

Saturday: Mostly sunny, high near 80.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, low around 71.

Sunday: Mostly sunny with a 20% chance of showers, high near 80.
